EP 1 – Classical, Tango, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Pop and Rock. Music Is One Divine Force That Unites Us All
It is my absolute delight to introduce you my dear friend, the brilliant Robert Horvath as my next guest of the ‘Financial Doctor Show’.
“Robert Horvath is a musician whose superb technical skills allow him to explore music with exceptional insight while making it appear effortless…. His interpretations are quite personal … clearly seeking the heart of the music … A truly gifted pianist.” – Glenn Morley, multi-award-winning composer/music producer
Robert is a pianist born and educated in Budapest, Hungary, where he studied at the Bela Bartok Conservatory of Music and earned his Masters’ Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. As the 1st prize winner of the Hungarian-Russian Competition for Young Pianists, Robert was featured at the age of 10 at the Hungarian National Radio. Since moving to Canada, he enjoys the reputation of being a versatile, truly talented musician who is a true pleasure to work with. The great Canadian piano star, Valerie Tryon, talks about Robert as “a fine pianist with musical imagination and sensitivity”.
After listening to Robert’s J.S. Bach Concerto recording, the renowned vocal coach Elaine Overholt stated: “His nuances are exquisite. His incredible technique allows Robert so much range with the dynamics, and his heart leads you to the magic!“
Robert is a popular soloist with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, and he performed the Piano Concerto I. by S. Rachmaninoff in 2018, as well as, Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto II.
In one evening, Robert performed the single, double, triple, and quadruple keyboard concerti of J. S. Bach in a concert titled “Back to Bach”. Just a few of the many venues and series he has appeared at includes the Roy Thomson Hall, the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheater, and Ottawa’s Chamberfest, Festival of the Sound, the Collingwood Festival, and the Indian River Festival. In the summer of 2019, he was featured with the Payadora Tango Ensemble in the Vancouver Island MusicFest and on Vancouver’s prestigious Music in the Morning series.
In addition to his outstanding classical skills, Robert‘s versatility extends to jazz, musical theatre and tango. Robert has served as a vocal coach, conductor, and pianist in musical productions, both in his native Hungary (“Musical World”) and here in Canada (“First Time Players”).
An important priority for Robert Horvath is music education. He is a deeply committed teacher and he founded the Horvath School of Music in 2002. He continues to enjoy teaching and making an impact on other people’s lives musically and personally. In addition, for the past several years, Robert has been an assistant teacher at Elaine Overholt’s BIG VOICE STUDIOS in Toronto, where he teaches classical piano, jazz (harmony), songwriting and improvisation.
Robert is also our star musician for the Toronto Women’s Expo‘s 10th Anniversary Charity Gala benefiting Million Dollar Smiles. You can experience Robert at the Gala in the summer of 2021.
At the end of the interview, Robert is showcasing his talent as a classical, jazz and tango pianist.
Thanks for listening!
